Alvin P. Akibar, M.S.

Graduate Researcher

Alvin is currently a fourth-year doctoral student in the Behavioral Science Ph.D. program, working with Dr. Yolanda Flores Niemann. His research examines intersections of sexuality, racial/ethnic identity and mental health, particularly in relation to social anxiety. The primary aim for Alvin's current and future research is to add theoretically-informed context to the experiences and needs of those with stigmatized identities, to assist researchers, mental health providers and policymakers.
